Quit The Mind
The Goal of meditation is to go beyond the mind.
Meditation cannot be done by thinking to much, you must switch it off. Thats
not easy in the beginning, but after some training it will work.

share this common feature of concentrating to a silent mind, finally means a consciousness not
limited by the intellectual mind.
Concentrate Yourself
In whatever we do, if
we can concentrate we are more successful. When we meditate we need to switch off from everything else and put
all our attention onto the meditation.
A quiet Place to Meditate
Find a quiet place to
meditate. You can improve this by use a picture you like. Or
maybe just use flowers or a candle. If you meditate at the same place every day
it might builds up a suiable atmosphere.
