The Mind is always affecting us every
day clouding our ability to make clear
decisions, causing stress and disease in
our body and thus preventing us from living
life we like, causing expenses and
depression sometimes we don't know how to deal with.
Studies have shown the big effect the mind
has on the body and our emotions and most
people are caught up in there mind chasing shadows,
talking about it and going to therapy classes
rather than dealing with it and trying to understanding
how the mind works.
With some commonsense
and a little bit of awareness we can learn
to transcend the lower mind and reprogram our subconscious mind
to support our true nature and use it to bring
peace and harmony and abundance to us and
the world around us. To
Enjoy unlimited abundance, happiness and personal
evolution in the great progression of life,
rather than the less ideal state of mind
that you find yourself in today.
Try these 3 key exercises to help you calm the mind and
then to reprogram your minds.
Exercise 1) Calm The Mind
Try 10 minutes to be aware of your breath in and out
of your body, allowing your thoughts
to float past your mind. Be aware of your thoughts and the
silent gaps between them. Stay present with your breath in
and out of your mouth and move more and more into the
witness position as your thoughts slow down.
Exercise 2) Self Awareness
As you become more aware of your actual thought patterns
write them down especially after calm the mind exercise,
write down all the negative thoughts, and memory patterns
you are aware of. ie: fears, negative belief systems, any negative self talk such as: I'm lazy, I'm poor or I always lose etc
Exercise 3) Reprogram the subconscious Mind.
The subconscious mind is sublime, that is to say it will
readily and unquestionably accept anything you submit to it
without question, and will act upon your instructions especially
If you have cleaned out old thought programs, thereby bringing
you into complete vibration and energetic harmony with your
true desires, thus enabling them to manifest in your life.
Now change your negative thought patterns you have written down
and turn them into positive affirmations such as: I am now Rich and Successful in everything I do. I now forgive and accept myself and the love and power the
Universe gives me. I Now Trust and Live in the present moment learning
to live life abundantly and joyfully. Make the affirmation relevant and easy to say to yourself.
Remember it and repeat it whenever you become aware
of negative thought patterns which arise in your mind. To keep your mind clean and live well these exercises

-A other approach to meditation is by sound.
OM or AUM is the most important and significant word of Mantra tradition. It is considered as the root mantra of all mantra. In a majority of Mantra, you will find OM.
OM is the most often chanted sound among all the sacred sounds on earth. This sound is considered as the sound of the
existence, I ideal base for meditation.
It is believed that the whole universe, in its fundamental form, is made up of vibrating, pulsating energy. Om is considered as the humming sound of this cosmic energy.
OM is said to be the original primordial creative sound
from which the entire universe have manifested. It is also known as the 'Anahat Nada', the "Unstruck Sound". This means the sound that is not made by two things striking together.
If you observe the nature of sound you'll find that all ordinary audible sound are produced by the striking of two objects : bow and strings, drum and stick, two vocal cords, waves against the shore, winds against the leaves, bat against the ball, tires against the road etc. In short all sounds within our range of listening are produces by things visible or invisible, striking each other or vibrating together, resulting in pulsating waves of air molecules which we interprets as sound.
In contrast to the above, OM is the sound which is not the result of the striking of two objects. It, rather emanates on its own. It is the primal sound of the universe that contains all sounds in itself.
The meaning of OM
Unlike all other mantra, there is no meaning of OM. It is actually not a word, it is a sound. As per Hindu tradition, OM is the purest name of God. It is the sound of the supreme consciousness. So when you
repeat OM, you actually take the name of God.
Now without going into the further philosophical explanation of OM, let us learn how to meditate using OM. Repetition of OM or AUM dissolves the mind it its divine source. The chanting of OM several time loud, purifies the atmosphere.
Sit in a comfortable undisturbed place. Take some deep breath. Now chant at least 7 times OM in succession. Make each breath last as long as possible. Take deep breath and chant Oooooooo~~~~~hhhhhhhhhh~~~~~ Mmmmmmm~~~~~. Then again repeat this chanting of OM. Do this for 7 times. After this, stop chanting and sit for a moment of silence. You will be amazed by the inner peace you'll get in such a small chanting of OM.
Listen the sound of Universe : Let us listen the sound of OM. You are requested to listen carefully. This sound of OM produces instant positive vibrations and takes the listener to a state of mental stillness.
Chanting the OM mantra for 15 minutes daily can produce remarkable
meditation effect in you. This mantra will help you to calm the mind, settled the thought process and realize the self,

-Learning to Meditate Receptivity
When learning to meditate, it is important to try different meditation techniques, some will work better for you than others.
Different techniques may involve breathing exercises,
visualizations and exercises of concentration. However it is important to bear in mind that meditation is not a mechanical process. In meditation what is important is the ability to be receptive to the silence of the soul. To have more successful meditation we can try to increase our receptivity through various things.
Naturally the environment of
the meditation place is important. To meditate we should ideally choose a certain room or sanctified corner which we can use just for meditation. This will help create a meditative vibration. If we meditate in a busy place like a bus it will be very difficult to feel this meditative peace.
Using objects like candles and beautiful flowers
in our meditation environment can also inspire us. A flame represents light, which is a spiritual quality of meditation. When we see a beautiful flower it also helps raise our consciousness. For meditation it is also advisable to shower before and wear light, clean clothes. All these aspects are not essential to meditation but they do help and are particularly helpful for a beginner.
Meditation can be dynamic activity, it is not just about relaxation. As
Sri Chinmoy says:
Meditation is silence, energizing and fulfilling. Silence is the
eloquent expression of the inexpressible.
To be receptive in meditation it is important to be fully awake and alert. For this reason it is advisable not to eat a heavy meal 2 hours prior to meditation. If we eat a meal the body will be more lethargic because it is digesting the meal.
We can increase our receptivity during meditation by cultivating a feeling of gratitude. When we have a feeling of gratitude it means we value our meditation and therefore we will give it our focused attention.
In meditation we try to go beyond the mind, we are using the energy of our
body and soul. Therefore to be receptive in meditation we should not use the mind. In particular the mind can be distracting when it expects a certain experience. If we expect a certain outcome we will be disappointed. It is also the case that the mind cannot comprehend the real effects of meditation because it is something that is not easily expressed.
Music could play a vital role in creating the right environment for meditation.
Soulful spiritual music creates the right vibration and consciousness. Our heart naturally responds to soul-stirring music. Meditative music can make us aware of a hidden reality deep within side ourselves. Thus we will aspire with great intensity, our meditation will have more concentration and one pointed ness.
If we cannot meditate well in the beginning we should not be discouraged. Through
practice we can develop our receptivity and enable a more fruitful meditation.
